iView MediaPro Direct E-mail Support Ending

A message from Kevin Bier - Microsoft Expression Media manager
===========================================

It's been a bit over two years since iView MediaPro joined the Microsoft family of products. Since that time Microsoft has continued to provide free support for iView customers (kudos to António and Gonçalo in Portugal, Will and Sekar in Fargo!!!), including an offer for a free upgrade from iVMP 3 to Expression Media. We've also maintained the lively iView forums. Actually, Simon from iView has maintained them (you can thank him by sending a note to simon@iview-multimedia.com).

At the time of the acquisition we announced our intentions to maintain iView customer support for one year. It's been two. But now it's time to focus iView support on the forums.

As of 1st September 2008, direct e-mail support for iView Multimedia products will cease. We plan to continue the iView forums due to the great content and lively discussions that continue there.

xMedia keeps getting better! E-mail, phone, and forum support is available to xMedia users. Information on upgrading is available on the Expression Media site. And the dev team is always listening on xmbugs@microsoft.com

Please direct any questions or comments to me: kevin.bier@microsoft.com

Peace,
kb

Peter Krogh’s Dam Workflow Presented by Nikon Australia

Costs including GST to AIPP, ACMP, AGDA, and NPS Members is $165.00, Student/Assistant Members are $82.50, and non-Members are $275.00. To book visit the new AIPP online store and go to the events section.

The AIPP would like to thank these generous sponsors without whom this event would not be possible: Nikon Australia (Major Sponsor), Epson Australia, L&P Phase One, iView Multimedia, Adobe, O’Rielly Media, Momento Photo Books, and DAMsimple.

New: The Controlled Vocabulary Keyword Catalog for iView MediaPro

Controlled Vocabulary Logo Metadata specialist David Riecks has released a new version of his Controlled Vocabulary Keyword Catalog (CVKC) for use with iView MediaPro 3.0 or higher.

The CVKC is ideal for creative pros that want a thorough set of terms for keywording images in an iView MediaPro catalog. Version 3.0 contains approximately 11,000 keyword terms organized in a hierarchical structure with segregated synonyms. A broad range of people, lifestyle, and concept themes are included. The use of the CVKC insures consistency in the selection and spelling of specific keyword terms and helps guide the keyworder to appropriate synonyms.

» Cost: $69.99 USD, includes 1 year of subscription updates. Can be purchased on the Controlled Vocabulary site. All subscribers are given access to any version without additional fees. Requires version 3.0 or higher of iView MediaPro.
